  1. Hi all, have a huge dilemma, my girlfriends dad has now got to sell his splitscreen project! I know it's not the right site but I'm seriously looking for advice on this if anybody can help?
The situation is that he has now nowhere to store it and has decided to sell up :(
I'll post some pics but just wondered if anybody on here would be looking to buy it, or would advise on how much they reckon he could sell it for?
Really feel sorry for him, he's spent loads of time on it and its nearly killed him with work and then working on the bus at weekends.
Anyway, it's a 1973 split from Peru, imported with papers. Will need registering over here but all import cost have been paid.
No engine, but he did by a second gearbox and axles for the hope of putting in a subaru engine. Have the wiring loom but to be fair it is not in good order so I was in the process of costing up. Has bumpers, windows with new pop out frames, new lights and the original seats. Any feedback would be appreciated guys? Thanks :)

  3. Comes with the wheels and tyres, doors haven't been finished yet but were in the process, he's still got the paint to finish the doors as well. Oh yeah and the carpet set that he raved about is there as well :)

  4. Shame to hear that - I had to sell my Split when I moved house, wish I still had it anyway - Peru you say?

I would post this on the Split Screen Van Club site - they are a good bunch and will also be able to advise an honest market price, failing that Fleabay or Car and Classic.

    Good luck with it.

  5. Yes mate, Peru, I did take the mickey, just a little but he's done a good job, replaced practically the whole front and the side step/ wheel arches, sourced new doors and skins where needed etc. Real shame!!

  13. Shame he has to sell, looks a lovely bus

  14. its a fleetline .. they`re no where near the price of a split unfortunatly but it looks nice

  15. Not a fleet line, it's a split.

I'm pretty sure its a Fleetline aswell, as the last true splits were last built in 67, nice looking bus though :)

  17. Great colour choice! Looks really nice, but I would say Fleetline as well. So as it has already been said not as valuable as a 'true' split but I think very interesting all the same!

Wish I had the space/time/money and balls to bring another home!!!!!

    Good look!

    Scotty.

  18. Fleetlines were 75 only. What's the chassis number. Could it be older ???
    Edit.
High hinges, inny vents, locking fuel cap....
    Interesting :)

  19. They were made in Europe before they sold the tooling to the South Americans who continued production until early '70s so we researched. The original bus came with the original front split end. Had a few dinks so he decided to replace rather than repair. Fleet line were made in South Africa later in the 70's and from what I can remember they had a bay window frontage!?

  20. Its not a Fleetline they are longer this looks like a split to me. :)
I can't afford it but I'll ask around how much is he looking for it? :)
