Roof refit sealant?

Discussion in 'Restorations' started by mjones1969, Apr 3, 2016.

  1. I am very near to refitting my pop top roof :), the po siliconed the lower fiber glass part to the metal roof all along the gutters.
Now the question is should it just bolt on with new plastic wing trim front and rear or shall i use some flexible
    mastic stuff such as

Caravan Sealant Carafax IDL 99 Caravan Mastic Sealant, 400ml Cream

Its an Aussie Sopru if that helps
    Cheers

I just used new rubber seal at the front and back and didn't use any sealant along the sides.
@Razzyh and @Baysearcher also have sopru's and they have both recently done theirs as well.

I bought some "Tadpole" type rubber seal from seals direct and cut small triangles out of the flat piece so it lays flat on the sharp bends, that's also where I obtained the "U" seal for the Poptop itself.
