roof keeps popping up

Hi

I have a devon top van and when I drive the roof keeps catching the wind and popping up. The clasps are there but all bent out of shape. Is there any ideas how to keep the roof tied down without having rope alround the van.

I have a bag of small cable ties on board and use a new one on the front clamp every trip.

I drilled right through the metal strip that holds the hook part of the catch about 15mm outboard from the little hook and up through the roof structure and through the cap. I through bolted it with a penny washer on the outside top of the roof well sealed with Sikaflex. Then I can get real tension on the catches and they stay done up. Strangely I have driven at 70 with the catches undone amd nothing happens...
