Roof (bellows) insulators

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Dicky, Jan 12, 2016.

  1. Has anyone, with one of the larger side hinged roofs, (Viking, Devon) bought in a roof insulator. Im interested in the quality and efficiency of these. I've spoken to the chap at "Proud to Pop" and may possibly buy one from there but if anyone, particularly with a Viking roof has one then Id be interested to know whether it works, how it fits etc. Anything will be an improvement on the thin canvas and I did have a makeshift one inside that seemed to work.

Are they the Silver Foil style ones with the fabric trim?

We have one for the westy, I think its Proud to Pop. Works really well, it does make a difference in winter plus it keeps the rain off the canvas! It doesn't blow away in strong winds either :)

I know the westy roof is different to yours, the theory should be the same.

  4. Amazing for the summer as it keeps the heat out (devon moonraker double top gets like a tent)works well in the winter but if its really cold and windy just put the roof down these days.

Make sure you secure it tight as well or the silver stuff just rubs off on the canvas leaving it dirty and the insulator useless :)

  6. Thanks for pointing these out, just what I need.
