I forgave him for his time at dirty Leeds, Died today aged 70. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63664992
Knew the name but didn't know much about him as he was in Man Utd team - but still he was way too young to go - heading the ball seems to be the cause of so much dementia in footballers - RIP Gordon .
RIP Gordon . Gone too young. I wonder if his ace ability at heading the ball contributed to his dementia
Apparently so. That’s quite a few now from that era isn’t it. Bobby Moore, Jeff Astle, our kid Bobby Charlton ( not gone but suffering) there’s a few too many to mention them all
Didn't he commit a legendary foul during a FA cup final ? That would nowadays have been an instant dismissal.
RIP Big man ... Mate of dads back in the 70s , Joe Jordans brother (John ) rented a house from mi dad and of course Joe and Gordon were always around for a few tinnies . They occasionally showed up on a Sunday morning to watch him and a few others playing pub football - even got a game once when they played in a charity match. Good sport and a towering presence...
