rickyrooo1's new ride, don't look if you don't like T5s.

  1. I think it must do, as the awning never smelt of gas when the flame went out after I'd set it up at the wrong angle or when the wind blew it out.

i've had my reimo multi rail fitted this morning, the van is currently inside at work letting the bonding go off.

So here it is, now got a gutter to stop annoying drips into the slider, plus the added bonus of the reimo rail is you can pole and clamp or use 6mm kador

They are nice, did you drill and screw it on, mines not the same but I'm not sure I want to drill holes, some say use a strong adhesive instead but I'm not sure about that either

Look at all the useful stuff just lying around where you work. I'd be like a kid in a sweet shop. That looks like lots of rolls of very thin Formica stacked next to your van. That's what I've used for my interior and a roll cost me about £50.

Your awning rail looks very neat and tidy. If it were mine I'd get the 6mm beading sewn into a sunshade so it's a quick and simple job to slide it straight in.

yep it's silkaflexed and screwed - who cares about drilling it? it's only a van innit?
yep loads and loads of laminates here in many colours, will probably get a small sunshade sorted for days when no awning is used.

A sunshade is ideal on a day out, but only if it's not a faff to put up. Should be 5 mins max from deciding it's too hot to sitting under it drinking a beer.

i think a while ago i saw someone made one from a shower curtain or something? i would have loved one of those wind out things like zed has but we really need the awning so......
what holds the poles up on a sunshade though? just random angles on a bit of paracord?

Yeah, a couple of poles and a couple of bits of string and a couple of pegs. We've parked on the road in a seaside town and made sure the sliding door opens onto that bit of grass they have between the beach and the road. Sunshade up and it's a little home from home.

lol yeah anyway it's done a million miles so maybe not..... but yeah different set up totally. i just like that colour but the more you look it's just a blowover job, no aircon either and originally a panel van also.... and i'm nowhere near that money on mine yet.

Just adapted the front twin seat, it has no rear tilt due to it having (originally) a bulkhead and vw not deeming it needed...... mrs roo was complaining it was too upright so this is well worth doing, made a decent difference. took a few pictures - i was lucky i left my seat in and just slid it into the van....
    original bracket angle.

i elongated the holes one up one down.

do the centre main one the same this is a before shot

Once back together you get this.

which when all upright and bolted back together gives you a less upright seat.

We used a canopy nearly all the time in the bay and will in the T4, great for sitting under in the Sun or rain , don't really use the awning much at all these days

we can't cope without an awning we take too much stuff lol, more for the dog really if i'm honest, if we just had the little one i doubt we'd need one.

Yes, can be as we either don't bother with an awning or if staying a few days or more, use a drive away awning.

Mine was for a T4 I will look at these and see if they are the same as the T5 one.
