hi anyone got any tricks to get springplate off torsion bar , got hub and cover plate off , been pulling and banging for afew hrs pulled plate out and down past the stop but dont want to pull it out too far . have marked everything up if i heat it up tomoz and still cant get it out will i have to pull torsion bar out with plate stuck on to free it up or am i in S"£$T . any ideas greatly received cheers
Have you tried levering it off with a flat pry bar against the torsion tube casting? Might put up a fight, but should come off. If no luck, might be worth marking the plate angle somehow and just pulling it off the inner splines.
Try wacking it in first it might break the corrosion seal , then try levering with a long flat bar like what snotty says , if it comes out still connected to the splines it will be ok - put it in a vice and wack it off -- wack is a official tlb tech term btw .
