Removing rubber from dashboard

  1. My bus is booked in for a complete new interior in October. So I am now starting the job of renovating the parts that will not be renewed.

The current dashboard has a rubber/sponge covering, but where the radio is the dash has been badly ripped and is missing chunks out of it.

I want to look at removing the sponge and rubber and then spraying the metal underneath c.ream to match the new seats and door cards etc.

Is this a horrid job to do, I cannot find a decent replacement.

Under the padding, a padded dash isn't quite the same as a painted one, but people have done it, sometimes re-covering in something else.

  3. I will check if the company doing the refit will recover the dash.
