  1. Would you run remould tyres on your bus?

    No

Major is running Yokahama C Drive 95H XL reinforced tyres now & the handling is brilliant, much better than the US tyres he came with!

  4. Mine had a couple of remoulds on it when I bought it. I replaced all 4 with hankooks and the handling improved dramatically, I think the side walls were flexing excessively, roundabouts were scary with a full load on.
Having said that though all my tyres were different makes before and two of them, on the same side, were not the correct load rating
How much money would you save by fitting remoulds?
I dont think I would fit them, after my experience, but there could have been other factors affecting my situation

  5. Their was a time when they were the tyre to use if you was hard up, needed some tread etc etc . i would have thought that at low speeds and not to loaded they would be ok but dont quote me ,things have moved on to china etc these days, unlike the better made stuff of the 60s 70s. People buy budget tyres so,its what the pocket can afford.

  6. Nope.

My folks fitted them to their A6 once. They did relatively low miles but after a year they were down to the canvas.

I just don't think they're worth the risk.

Absolutely not. If I did my father would take the keys for both the bus and the ragtop away from me.

i've not seen remoulds for years, usually 'budget' is the new remould, i miss seeing a strip of rubber on the side of the road.

  10. Re-moulds are still around and I've used them on the van in the past but as the price of new has crept down I've bought new. It should be said that the modern re-mould is a much better proposition than the stuff being offered back in the 70s. Legislation and construction regulations have pushed up standards a lot.

  12. Yep! got 30k out of a set . But then I like to save money.

  13. if u where in an accident and u have remould that don t comply ie load rated u will not be insured owen nw

  14. No. I wouldn't fit remoulds to a radio flyer, let alone my van.

Nor me - I posted the link for your interest - I didn't think you'd buy them. :)

  18. Not remoulds nor ditchfinder discount tyres on any vehicle I own / run. Mainly, I want to stop quickly, especially in the wet, and that means decent tyres.

  19. Apart from the guy down the pubs brothers mates uncles grandad telling you so, has anyone had first hand experience of remoulds on their car? In recent history, say in the last 10 years?or is this just the same as "it's only 4 bolts"
Also, aren't a lot of truck tyres on he road remoulds?
