Hi My bus is at VW Aircooled Works near Spalding. Anyone know of a registered gas fitter near there who can 'plumb' in the smev gas stove? Cheers
As above ^^ But also check that the engineer is qualified LPG with LAV. Leisure Accomodation Vehicles.
I'm not going to mess about with gas fittings especially as we'll be taking my 5 month old in the bus
I'd do it myself to to be honest. Pretty much anyone can connect up a hose and clamp. I'm sure you'll find someone willing to charge you through the nose though!
But what type of hose and which clamp!! There are different ones for different purposes, and each has a life expectancy.
Solid copper pipe and compression fittings, seriously its easy, fit it yourself and have someone out to check it. It's the fitting that they will spank you for
Dont forget ventilation http://www.campingandcaravanningclu...alhelp/power/gas-for-caravans-and-motorhomes/
It won't because I wouldn't get it wrong. I know professionals like to make it seem a difficult job but it really isn't.
I hope you do do it right, because if you have an incident your insurance company will laugh their cock off
What is up with @BaG hEaD ? If his got his modderaters bag on then say "tlb does not advise gas fitting if not qualified" If its not a mod thing what's up ?
I'm just shocked that people are advising others of doing gas work themselves. Yes, it is TLB stance to promote safety in all issues.
It's by the by but it ain't me doing it (check the thread starter). You're "shocked"? Really? How many campers do you think have hobs that were fitted by gas safe engineers? I'm guessing very few.
