Rear tailgate springs???

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Lardy, Apr 8, 2012.

  1. Anybody got any pics of how the springy metal bars go into the brackets on the tailgate, one of mine is out and that means one side only springing open, if you now what I mean lol. Nw am confusing myself
I just need a picture showing how they attach onto the brackets so I can pop the bar thingy back in. Cheers

It goes in the same as the one that's still there - but a mirror image.

  3. Be really careful when it's assembled, my mate smashed his fingertip when one arm sprang out :'(

You get one end in, then insert nail bar into the loop of the spring other end, twist and push into place - easy when you work it out, dangerous if you haven't. lol

  5. I've always kept well away from mine. Looks like a good way of removing your fingers... :(

  7. Don't know if these pictures will help you but I thought I would just upload them in case it does.
Haven't done rear door spring before so can't advise how hard or easy it is :)
