I need to replace mine and i vaguely remember some are better quality than others

Any recommendations are the JK ones any good?

  2. Try and get some genuine ones if you can .I have found the aftermarket ones rust quickly .

I replaced both our rears last winter (2022-2023) as the adjuster star spring clips had broke off.

Checked the brakes this winter and the ruddy clips had broke off on one backplate.

Those were the Schofield Best Quality

I dont bother with those clips Mark they are feeble ...I think as long as the adjusters are not over lubricated i found that mine held in place . i suppose if they are mega coppersliped they will move .

The adjuster unwound again so I put a locknut in there, touch wood it’ll be okay.

  6. I fitted the VW Brazil ones years ago and they've been fine.

Half a dozen years back, you couldn’t get rear early back plates at all unless it was old stock just uncovered. So I bought some late ones and my pal up the lane swapped the gubbins over to accept early shoes etc as it was all slightly different . He made me some springs to stop the adjusters moving out of a hacksaw blade and they’ve been fab. I recently did my front ones and didn’t have the springs so I copper slipped the adjusters within an inch of their life and popped them in the vice. I then impact gunned them up and down about twenty times in the vice. Then I cleaned all the copper slip off them with just a rag and they still moved lovelybut haven’t slackened off to date.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,, need another engineer to move up our street. :)
