  1. Am i missing something

I know this girl yes, she has 1 kid and a 2 bed flat, why do they think its right to think they deserve a house when they've had a kid then split up with the father which by the way the relationship wouldnt of worked anyway ?????????

people work bloody hard to get their own house, she wants one for next to nothing.

  2. Don't fear. She wont get it. The council have far higher priorities than a woman in a two bed flat with one child. She's lucky she even has that!

TBH the council will say that the present accomodation is stable and suitable for the present occupants, (2 people - 2 bedrooms). this is actually quite generous for a council property! I've worked with people (2 adults & 2 children) in a bedsit. Now that a REAL housing need.

I've seen a lot of this. People have this ridiculess sense of entiltement and expect everything to be handed to them on a plate. I'd be intereted to find out what she has put in to the system to feel that she is entitled to so much out of it.

Diclaimer: this is not a right wing rant but the musings of a person helping GENUINE people in need to find housing.

I bet she has Sky, a flat screen telly and a junk food/smoking habit too. Am I close to the mark?

I see, We all see council houses with Mercs, bmw's ect parked outside, obviously working and not poor but still living in social housing, maybe passed down from their parents, I really think its wrong, if you earn a certain wage you should have to give up your council house/Flat and let more deserving people have them

  4. I agree with all the above. and will stop typing before i do go into a rant. :)

  5. She'll be lucky! No offence as you know this person but she should count herself lucky she has a roof over her head in the first place.

Mate of mine lived in a one bedroom flat for over 10 years. He got full custody of his daughter when she was 8 years old. The council didnt move him in to a 2 bedroom until she was 13. This is the age that the council felt it appropriate enough for his daughter to have her own room and privacy. Not once did he moan. Spent 13 years sleeping on his sofa so his daughter could have the bedroom.

This was a while back and the housing system is harder than ever now and i should know working directly with homelessness so she may well be finding herself in her flat for a while to come.

  6. Has she told you whats she's done to deserve the house yet?

The job I'm doin at the mo I'm knockin on a lot of doors and you'll be supprised how many so called single parents with a few children are living in big 3 storey houses. How can they afford that!
