Saw him at the WOMAD festival about 13 years ago - he played in one of the marquees which was absolutely packed to the rafters - we managed to slip in through the side - he was superb - if memory serves his daughter, Anoushka, was playing alongside him. There is something very evocative about sitar music - the way the drone strings and the picked/strummed strings interplay can be rather magical.
