Radio Wiring.

  1. Hi,can anybody help me with this little diagram I've got for fitting my car radio into my camper?
I understand Block A but on Block B I'm not too sure of terminals 6 and 7 and where they should be wired up to.
    Thanks in advance.[IMG]

  3. my eyes arent that good, i cant see it
    what does it say?

  4. Same here, I can see it's an ISO terminal block, but can't see the fine detail. Usually with those blocks, one is for power items, the other is speakers

From what I can see from that small picture with blurred writing:

    6) is for facia dimmer switch. To be honest there is no need or it. However if you do want it I believe you need to wire it to the dashboard lights.

    7) is ignition live. Wire it to the permanent live. On the live wire ofthe ISO plug there should be a spare plug for that lead. Then you can keep the radio on with the ignition off. There really is no place for ignition live radios.

  6. Thanks for the replies, didn't think I'd got any!
My apologies for the terrible picture ,it was crystal clear when i took it.
I'll follow your good advice Birdy ,top marks!

  7. If it's an iso connection then either cut it off so you are left with the bear wires, or buy the other side of the iso connector with flying wires ( plug with wires haniging out not connected to anything)

As the bus wiring is really simple, all you need to worry about is the ignition wire, 12V constant supply and the neutral.

Connect the red wire from the plug to the ignition (switched 12V)
Black to Ground (metal body work) there is a good earth on the bulkhead below the wiper motor
Yellow to the 12V constant supply. radio memory

    Ignore all the other wires.

Speakers are on the other plug and just wire according to the diagram

  8. With an ISO connector looking at the plugs as they go into the radio, wires facing away from you.
The top plug is speakers LHS is left speakers RHS is right speakers
Inner 4 are front speakers outer 4 are rear speakers.
With the top plug you only need to wire up 3 of the wires +30 or permanant live, +15 ignition live & an earth.
    These are marked:-
    8 for earth normally black
7 for Permanant live (live at all times) normally red
4 for ignition live normally yellow
all the other wires are optional
6 is illumination corrected to your lights normally orange
5 is a 12V output normally to power an amp or an electric ariel (for high power stuff you will need to run it through a relay)

  9. Just to confuse you
Here is a diagram its looking at the back of the radio so a mirror image of what I described above:-

Connections for Block C - Left hand side, uses Yellow plug
    - ignore this its for modern cars, CD changers etc.
Block A terminals 1, 2 & 3 are for stereo mute, volume speed control & speed pulse for sat navs etc. These are different on different makes

  11. Flipping heck, there's some knowledge in this group without doubt!
I successfully wired it in with no real problems then accidentally kneeled on my ipod I was gonna use with it and made the screen ' bleed'....... doh.
