  1. Taken my pipe off today seems like it is breaking up from the outside the inside is as good as the day it was put on,

    View of the outside,,

View of inside after spilting pipe open,

The pipe is good inside thought it could be heat from engine making it crack on outside but it is breaking up beside petrol tank as well not just engine bay,

It’s the inner core that is, or should be, resistant to Ethanol and if the cracking on the outside was only in one area I’d suspect it was contaminated during storage or installation but it’s not only in one area so my next guess is a poor quality bit of hose or it’s not what it is supposed to be. What are the markings on the side of the hose, does it confirm it is SAE 30R9?

  3. Came straight out of the packaging and fitted so no bad storage my end,

    Steve,

  4. That first pic was the same as mine after 12 to 18 months.

  5. it's very easy to print something on the side of a pipe....and charge double:(

Generally speaking the exterior surface of fuel hose specified for the automotive/marine applications will be resilient to temperatures, oils, fuels and contaminants normally present in engine bays....regardless of the rating....FI hose usually has better, or more, reinforcing, or thicker wall, as it's subject to higher internal working pressure....the materials it's actually made from will vary....the internal compound doesn't have to be the same as the external compound as each surface has to deal with different conditions.....

I wouldn't buy any more hose from the place you bought the stuff in the pic.....geuine R9 shouldn't be cracking after 12 months
