Original single wedge washers for the cv boots OR nordlock double wedge washers (slightly bigger still m8) Thanks i n advance
I've only just discovered the nordlock washers - for inlet manifolds incidentally - and I like the look of them. They make sense from an engineering mechanics point of view.
They are similar go the original only in double form, we use them on the railway so foc, just wondered what's best o.e or nordlock,
The ones that are fitted are wedged both sides to enable a"grip" same as the nordlock, wedged both sides just a different degree of wedge on the nordlock, if that makes sense
It does - I guess its an optical illusion in the pic. You should launch in on the internet as one of those pictures that sends young uns in to a frenzy...
I think the answer is the Schnorr washers are a better fit under the heads of the socket head bolts , the Nordlock will be mostly uncovered.
Use the correct torque with the bolts and Schnorr washers and make sure you have the spreader plates fitted so if any sliding around of the bolts in the holes in the joints happens on shock loads (wheel spin on mud or ice hits grippy tarmac) the bolts are still locked to the plates. That way you have three springy loops attaching the CV joint.
