I'm used to a Tax Free / Historic Beetle cost level - can I have a rough steer on Road Tax & Insurance for a Latebay please :- 1979 - 2 Litre Automatic (7 seat Bus rig) tin-top (bit ratty but sound & MOT'd).......?. Cheers - JIM.
insurance will depend on if left or right hand drive and how much you value it for or mileage you declare plus if it's a main car or weekend fun thing. Tax now £220 a year £121 6 months.
Thanks for the quick responses (I'm doing rapid overall costs in deciding - today) that helps - pleasantly surprised on the Insurance thought it would be double the 'Historic' rates, and as I'm 65,retired,no-claims the £120-130 will probably cover me. Thanks once again - JIM.
Mine was £84 before tax, breakdown cover, key cover, legal cover etc about £200 all included , 3k miles, £9k value, rhd 75 devon, SL4 postcode, garaged overnight, they insisted on steering wheel lock. Company is HIC, Very nice to deal with, no hold times when you phone them, all electronic docs, print your own cert. Insurance company
You need to get quotes, too many variables. For instance I pay nearly £350 because of my postcode (could only find 2 companies that would touch it!) CVI worth checking out, most will negotiate, don't take the first quote (it's like a game of charades, they pretend to phone the underwriters etc..0 Cheers s
Tax £215 insurance, parked on the road and limited 5k milage £360ish (RHD) valued at £8k I think ours is high so will be looking for a cheaper company than Adrian Flux ???
