Question for the FI gurus

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by EDE77, Aug 13, 2016.

  1. I was tuning the bus today, 2ltr FI, when I spotted the small vacuum hose connecting the air cleaner to the dizzy loose..not connected at all.
There is a 3 way hose connector present as normally, according to Ratwell, the dizzy vacuum hose goes to the throttle body but also to the air cleaner, but in this case the connection which should be where the air cleaner hose connects is capped!!
I have driven the bus for 7 years and have never noticed any negative effect, albeit spotted before the cap but assumed...
Anyway, my question, why would it not be connected, why is it capped, is there a reason?

    Thanks

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

  3. Someone disconnected it in the past to try and fix a different problem no doubt.

    Two options:

Ignore it and carry on driving as it is

    Or

Connect it up as it should be and see how it runs

  4. ThankS both, I planned to carry on driving as she drives well anyway!

Just wondering why they disconnected it.

    Thanks

  5. To cover up another fault no doubt. Reconnect it and see what happens
