I shaved my head because I looked like Coco The Clown and didn't want the comb over as I lost my hair.
Bit of a siege mentality now really. Constantly dealing with the scum of the universe who prey on the vulnerable. Dealing with command who want promotion at all costs (now there's ego!). Dealing with the carnage and emotions of death and expected to keep smiling like nothings happened. Dealing with self important moans who think that they know how to police better because they've watched the TV. Dealing with keyboard lynch mobs who demand that a cop be complained about because of the heresy of commenting on a Bay being a coffin on wheels. I don't think it's ego anymore, just totally *******ed off with dealing with idiots who have nothing better to do than complain because of a minor comment, infringements or by looking like thugs and rarely ever give positive remarks other than a token bit of sympathy when a cop is killed. If this all people have got to moan about then I think they really ought to get a life or even better put a uniform on and show everyone how it should be done. After all, I forgot how perfect you and everyone else is. God forbid a cop actually has human frailties.
Ouch, that hurt! Likening me to that East Grinstead bloke I meant!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Michelle was a Police Officer for seven years and during that time she witnessed or was stabbed by someone with a dirty needle attacked by a nutter with a 14" machete attended an RTA where four lads in a car got killed, one of which beheaded rescued a suicide victim who jumped under a train. He was alive for four hours and died as soon as he was freed from the wheelset attended an accident where a 9 yr old girl ran across the road to her Dad. A bus hit her & she died on the scene. drug related nutters on the loose in Sutton lots of other incidents which I cant remember Some Cops do have extremely large ego's and are not sympathetic towards others, some have witnessed all sorts of eventualities and may have demons lurking, who knows.
This has become a bit of a “have a go at the police”. I didn’t have a particularly positive experience when our T5 was stolen, but for that I lay the blame at successive governments who have imposed cuts, more and more paperwork, greater scrutiny of anything and everything the police do. I don’t blame the police. In actual fact the face to face encounter I had with a police seargeant following the theft was pretty positive at a time when I didn’t want any PR bullsh1t, just a bit of straight talking. We never see beat bobbies anymore sadly, but again, I know who is to blame for that and it’s not the service itself.
