Probably best if you keep sharp objects away from me tonight

  1. I managed to find a spare afternoon where i could hopefully get the rest of the welding around the A pillar/cab step sorted and 5 minutes after i started my welder decided to pack up.
There seems to be some sort of blockage in the feed liner so it just screws up the wire wasting about 6ft every time. Its done it 6 times today. :banghead:

Fran has been secretly hiding all the sharp knives in the kitchen just in case. ;)

  2. Deep breaths!

  3. To be fair the liner has lasted 3 years since i replaced it last.
Looks like its gonna be another week or so before i can get a completely free day so atleast theres time for the new liner to arrive.

  4. Will a smaller wire not get stuck or try some wd40?

  5. Zed

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

If it's bunching up in the machine, the liner start needs to be nearer the feed wheels. Mine's even sharpened at the end to fit between the wheels.

  6. It had a plastic liner in it which was going brittle and the wire was just cutting through it.
I've ordered a wire liner instead to see if that makes a difference.
