Lots of you are familiar with my bus. If you're not this won't make sense. When I got my van it had no interior, but I just wanted to go and camp - matress in the back would have done, but I missed the summer and the winter produced a monster. I have no idea what happened - one thing just led to another with no overall plan other than a love of symmetry. :? I've never made anything from wood that wasn't really crude before. I've been camping in it and I have to say the drawers are bloody daft - I have no idea what to put in them. lol But the lockers right at the back are like Tardis. Now I have the kitchen drawer for pots and pans and the like, and the rr bed space for big things I think next time out maybe I won't be camping out of cardboard boxes. It's not been much fun, but the end result demands pain along the way. I just hope that unlike all my previous vans this doen't have to go to pay a bill.
Its funny how things go isn't it. Get a van go camping. Go camping ,want a cooker. Get a cooker want!a cupboard. You get the gist !.
Zed dude your bus is an evolution just as vw design evolved When we camped together in derbyshire by bus wasent perfect neither was yours However the fact we both met up in unperfect busses and swapped stories and ideas and told each other things weve held inside for a long time Changed somthing in both our lifes i felt It made me realise that the internet forum view on how busses should be and how the owners should be is a falcity to the extreme Keep it real dude they are for adventures and doing things you normally wouldent do Its not the meaning of life its the feeling of life Since ive given up the erb everythings making a lot more sense and i love my bus for its quirks instead of getting annoyed about them My bus will one day be finished in the image i have in my head give or take a few things as yours will im sure Feck the scene they our our busses and they will end up how we like them and thats the way they should be Those draws of yours will hold a lot of umbrellas which will sell nicely at shows if this wet weather keeps up Or a lot of cling film if you hang around outside fetish parties lol
Giving up the Herb will change nothing. It's a symptom. Just thought I'd mention that. Agreed with the rest though. It's been about the journey.
I disagree about the erb dude For once i have clarity on what is happening in my life instead of anylising it so far i come up with the wrong answer or convince myself somthings ok when its not Ok the novelty will wear off and ill have to deal with the straight hard facts of whats happening but surely thats better in the long term rather than excisting in a haze of fluffy bubbles and sunshine If the cold hard reality of my life is its all tits up and ive been screwed time and time again at least i know thats the way it is and i can deal with it one way or another The journey begins now and its going to be a rough one but im sure it will have real reality highlights i can and will enjoy Looking forward to camperjam big time dude its just a shame im in a tent yet again
Para - Keep it up chap will all make sence once you get passed the sleepless nights etc Back on topic Zed your bus has evolved into a cool bus and you will soon find a use for all your drawers and cupboards.
I lived in my bay for a bit, cupboards were very useful, the drawers held scissors, sewing kit, cutlery, penknives, screwdrivers, locking wheel nut, assorted fuses, bottle openers and loads of sachets of ketchup and brown sauce that i pocketed whenever in a cafe. Plus hangover cures for the morning.
