Poole Quay Beetles & Kombis 1st August 2014

If its comparable to the Tuesday Bike nights it will make for a great evening. There are a few TLB'ers who might interested, @Louis 1973 @outlaw @JamesLey @CollyP we could arrange a suitable rendezvous point and drive in together so that we all park together.

If you're coming from further afield I'm considering camping over somewhere nearby to make a break of it. I'm sure the locals will be able to make some recommendations.

Looks like we need to get there dead on 6pm

 

or very shortly after. On the bike nights the quay all the way past the hotel to the old life boat station gets full up very quickly and you then get sent out to the car park. Obviously less VWs to the metre than bikes but that's why it would be better to travel in together.

does it get as busy as the Tuesday Bike nights?

 

It was a little quieter than the bike nights when I went last year but it was rainin! I live in Branksome and am happy to act as a meeting point if needed?

 

Hi @JamesLey are you still up for this? It would be good to make some plans and if you can act as a meeting point that would be great. We're considering making it a night away, possibly a site near Wimborne (@Louis 1973 do you have details?) or maybe elsewhere if anyone has any recommendations?

 

Hi. It's looking less likely that I'll be able to make this now as Iris is still at the restorers and I've been told will be there for at least another month!


They used to run two Kombi themed nights but it looks like there's only one this year.

 

Oh sorry to hear that, good luck with the restorers. Must be annoying to have delays at this time of year when you should be out on the road.

Will arrange a rendezvous when we see who else is available.

Probably best not to venture out until the roof is on , the restos looking good. Fingers crossed you can get some use out of her before the weather turns.
