So, engine started by not firing on one cylinder and an oil leak out of the head. That got fixed...... Found that the copper seal at the top of the piston was not fitted.

However now it seems oil wants to leak from the gearbox and engine mating face. Grrrrr .... Engine on the floor for the 5th time this week. I suspect the flywheel oil seal so plan to change......

Any advice??? Especially with locking flywheel alternate methods??

I used a bolt through one of the engine gearbox hole and levered a big flat screwdriver to hold the flywheel.
Dont forget the o ring thats inside the flywheel

  3. Cool thank you matey, will tell you how it goes tomorrow......

Any ideas why it broke??? Just old or could I break it whilst trying to put the engine in??? Not sure how it's just broken and don't want to repeat it

  4. Check the gearbox main shaft doesn't have a lot of play in it as it could come from there also check the case isn't leaking - but i guess its the crank seal its easy to upset them

  5. It was deffo engine oil..... Gearbox oil is different, at least in my experience on other vehicles.....

Will check it for play though just in case... Thanks :D
