I have been searching for the portion of cargo floor right inside the slider. Every picture of replacement floors that I have found on vendor's websites do not seem to have this section. Does anyone make it? I am talking about the piece that is directly above the lower slider track. I would call it the top part of the sill. Any help would be great!
somthing like this? http://www.customandcommercial.com/..._lhd_only_can_be_modified_for_rhd_68-79_1121/ Not Cheap though
That looks like the other side to me. Maybe I am wrong, but that looks like the section that would go up against the solid panel. Does anybody have actual pictures of these sections instead of retailer stock pictures?
alan schofield does it , its over £50 , u will be raging if u buy it and see all it is when it come , get some one to fold and edge on a piece of 1 mm metal and cut out the shape , might cost ye £20 or less owen nw
Alan schofield is the one place I haven't looked, I'm not able to access his website right now. It just wont load.
That is ridiculous! You can get every other part for this damn bus new! /rant I guess I will be calling my local VW wrecker. Thanks for the help!
But from your picture there is nothing wrong with it, looks surface rusty sure but nothing I can see to be bothered with . Get a wire wheel on it
Thats exectly the same as the panel i have ready to go in my bus, so no that bit isn't part of the new half floor Looking at yours mate, that will repair easily with some new steel and a floor repair panel, a lot cheaper than buying a half floor
The cargo floor is rotton but the top part of the slider channel looks to be just pitted with surface rust As others have said there very thick steel and its very rare to not be able to save them
As i say, just take a flap disc to it and then get a pic. If you replace everybit of your bus that has that little rust on it... Youll be out of pocket. I think youll end up replacing the cargo floor, but that bit looks like it may only need a patch or two and a clean up
Id clean up the cargo floor and see how bad it really is I preffer to patch them if possible as the ones available now are much thinner than the originals Get yourself a knotted wire brush on an angle grinder and a good hour or two stripping the floor back to bare steel will show you the extent of the damage
