Hi all, I offered up my air cleaner today to see where the vac lines run but couldn't figure it out and a search on the google didn't help either.

I have a 1600 DP running a 30/31 (I know) and all I have figured out (correct me if I'm wrong) is that a vac line runs from the intake manifold but unsure where it should go and indeed where the other vac lines run across the air box. I have one stub on the air box (A), one on the pre heat thingy (B) and two more that have been linked together at some point (?).

Any help as to what goes where would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  2. A goes to the t-piece in the fuel tank breather lines on the ceiling of the engine compartment. The looped-back one: run one hose from the double junction on the airbox thermostat (where they're both connected at the moment) to the hot air flap valve at the end of the airbox "snout". The other thermostat connection runs to a source of manifold vacuum, either from the carb or a small pipe on the inlet manifold under the carb.

That is brilliant, thank you snotty

  4. Flap valve actuator is the thing that looks like a flying saucer. Should have a pipe connection on it.

And the big hole underneath the flying saucer goes via a hose through the right most hole in the tinware to pick up hot air from the No2 cylinder head area. A curved tin "stove pipe"points at the head under the main tinware. If it isnt there just point the corrugated hose at the head.
