This is Pinky, a 1973 Westfalia Continental campervan. In the summer of 2009 Mrs Marowak and I starting looking at campervans with a view of buying one. I saw Pinky on eBay and jokingly sent a link to Katie saying 'what about this one?'. She loved the colour and we went to view the van. A week later I was driving Pinky back home. The original plan was to get her resprayed early on but after blowing up the engine 1 month after having her all our funds went on getting the engine replaced. A few months later we hit numerous mechanical issues and after a steep learning curve about 'vw specialists' we eventually found a trustworthy person to work on her. Since then it's all been good. We had her slightly lowered and have made new door cards, curtains and a few tweaks here and there. She always seems to turn a few heads and I actually like having a PINK van. I have long term plans including a new interior (ish) - fitting new seats and maybe treating her to a touch of paint for her 40th in a couple of years.
I think Pinky looks pretty tidy. If someone offered me a pink van I probably would have declined but I kind of like it
mmmmmm recognise those arches, we ,also took pics of our camper with those arches in the background soon after getting it but alas no darkness down there in july.
