Painting a westy roof - respray in 2 pack

  1. Why a clear coat?
There’s no need when using a 2 pack solid colour

I’d also get the roof rack section done at the same time otherwise you run the chance of the two parts being a slightly different colour

  2. I Agree but it’s a matter of cash, plus the guy is going to match the paint by way off an app, and mix it the paint on site. This is going to be recorded and I will go back again to get the roof rack done the two items can be treated separately as they ar independently attached to the roof. I was hopeful that I could prepare the roof rack to a certain point myself , it’s easier to handle and store and work on in my shed , then take to the painters for final prep and paint.

Started to look at costs differently , if you can D.I.Y for around £350 -£450 according to advice , you labour length may be a week or so depending what you find .
If you get the fixed quote of £1200 , minus say minimum of your cost only for materials, £350 , make an added £850 to your overall cost.
Remember thats £850 for a HOPEFULLY professional job using the right materials and preparation , also the cost of labour , then i think its not too bad a deal at £1200 (or as i class it £850 more than D.I.Y )
I know it wont be a weeks labour for the professional and it may be a job done between other jobs but the person has to make a wage

My logic may not work for all but i am a tight Yorkshireman
