56D086E5-2733-4037-996A-1C23F710E145.jpeg Ok, I’my happy with sanding down to bear metal, priming spraying etc. Reckon I’d be ok giving a bit more jip with a rotary tool and filler etc.

Then things get a little more tasty as per attached pic of front wheel arch.

It’s obviously not going to be too nice underneath. The bay’s Californian and it’s in general very good paint order, so I’d have though too early for proper paint shop job?

What would people advise about the rust on the pic? Ta

It is either water going in from the outside through a small crack in which case it is surface rust, or it is the projection into 3-D space of a rust monster inside the wheel arch.
My preference would be to pick at the outside , use some filler and repaint it..
Then poke a spray nozzle up the drain holes at the bottom of the wheel arch try to get into that box if you dont have the brake booster air hose hole that side which makes for easier access.. and cavity wax it to death to try and stop damp seeping through.

Hopefully it’s damp coming from the outside and it’s just surface rust. It’s the same at the other side and rear verticals are just starting to bubble.

I guess this is where the panels seams are and with flexing the paint cracks water gets in.

I shall start picking when I’m back from my summer jaunt :burp:
