I do find it odd that people might be too nervous to post on this particular forum. It can't be that they fear attack or that nobody will talk to them. Maybe the opposite. However, I only post here because you (Iggle) made me. I do have a late bay BTW. I try and keep that quiet. Wanna see a picture?
I get that. A mate of mine, same situation - friends for 18 years, has moved (not far) and I never hear hind nor hair from him. He is my boys godfather too. It would be a shame to loose the friendship but sometimes things move on. Or perhaps life has just got in the way.
i went to my first tlb meet many a moon ago at dubfreeze, at the time i was also posting a fair bit on a much larger generic vw forumzi and recognised a few of the superstar members from off of there having a little meet up at the bar too! while at the bar purchasing a beverage i overheard the other forum superstars slagging off the other groups,they said the late bay, who the eff do they think they are etc, that signalled the end of my posting on there and becoming much more active on here! now to me that is a clique, there are definately a few groups on here, mainly i'd say geographically orientated as these are the people that are going to mix more at meets etc, however i dont think anyone could feel excluded on here in any way! its just too friendly! yes at times people can be cocks which might put people off, but thats life! keep posting, keep having fun, lifes too short...........peace and love TLB
I tend to drift away from vans in the winter, although Im still using me Doka as a daily, I concentrate on gun dog training/working in the winter.
i know lots and have met quite a few off here and have to say i have yet to meet anyone i didn't like and that must come across in my own posts , i am truly sorry if it come's across as cliquey it truly isn't meant to , it's simply because i genuinely think the people on here are very friendly and nice company - Rick excluded , he's a tit !
Can we change cliquey... in like the swear filter... its a horrible word that just seems to get people thinking they aren't part of something when they are...they are part of 'The Late Bay' that's what I think x
cliquey isnt a word I'd use..since tlb started, none of us knew each other it was all names on a PC screen on the internet. As people have met and got to know each other, some really great friendships have been made and some epic meet ups have taken place. There are a good few of us who have now become firm friends away from TLB and meet up socially not just for campervan meets but for a passing cuppa, our childrens birthdays etc etc Any newbies out there reading this, join in, participate & as others have said it'll not be so bad!! Myself, I'm a very shy person and find I dont know what to say to people, it does make me nervous of making the right impression but I do try my best & so far its worked!!

I don't know about you lot back in the U.K., what about us in the colonies? I'm 12,000 miles away & happily join in the banter, jokes (even about convicts ) & my chances of camping with or meeting the vast majority of regular posters on here are pretty remote. However we do plan a trip to the U.K. next year & one of the main reasons is to actually meet some of you reprobates. I'm sure I'm like others here, in as much, as I use social media to keep in touch with friends around the world & in my case around Australia (it's a big place) whether that means forums, Farcebook or *****ter. Cliquey? I don't think so, it's like any forum/newsgroup/mailgroup you get out of it what you're willing to put into it.
