  1. I have fitted all as required, and the outer scraper is not touching the glass. Why would this be? Zed im sure you will know hopefully. They are coolairvw supplied.

    I also want to know

  3. You mean wipers? The last inch or so?

Have you fitted your wiper spindles deep enough into the body? Have the springs lost their, um, spring?

  4. Outer scrapers on the cab doors?
I fitted new ones and they don't touch either. Bought from JK and they seem to be made of plastic rather than the rubber the originals were.

  5. I wound my window down and used a heat gun on them and kept pushing the rubber in and tyring it with the window up until they finally touched

  6. Oh

  7. is crap aint it. Cant believe it. Also had a quarter light upright seal that was 3 inches too short and we cant wait for another one and cant be arsed with all the posting it back and removin all the window components again so i spliced a piece of the old seal in there. You just dont know it doesnt work/fit/is long enough til you actually try to fit it and by that time it is used and not returnable condition anyway. Hump. I will try the heat gun, hopefully i will get somewhere. somethings got to give cos otherwise we will all have leaky doors again. I thought i purchased the best that was available. Maybe. maybe not.

  8. We're did you get the seals etc

  9. cool air. Im not slagging them off in any way shape or form just for the record they are great guys.

  10. Were the outer seals and scrapers original (Brazzy) VW ones? Rubber and silver curvy trim heat-sealed to a flat piece of cardboard (as I recall)?

I fitted this type and they were fine. The inners were fine as well, once you get the peely-clippy method sorted.

They don't seal that well, but then neither did the originals.

  11. I brought a kit from cool air looks like good stuff just hope it all fits well now

  12. custom and commercial have good window kits all vieweb , had no probs fitting :)

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

C & C for me too no probs.

i mashed up the passenger side completely and had to screw the inner metal backing strip to the door, but that one seems to be sitting almost fully on the window as i expected both to. This one pictured is the drivers side where i was extra patient and did not lose my temper, so i cant see why it doesnt fit right. Il be *****ed if im taking it out again though. Think i will try the heat gun tomorrow but i am skeptical.

  16. So i just noticed, my passenger side cab window goes all the way down, but the drivers side doesnt go all the way down, so i cant really try the heat gun. Not sure what to do.

  17. nightmare mate ....hope you get it sorted ,this is half the reason i gave up doing my bay .....inferior parts ......i havent touched my bay for month now and im only gona fix sumthing that brakes......sod the resto lark ,would be different matter if the parts are top quality

  18. i have got a friend who is getting hold of some originals, so when he fits his, i will have a look at how he gets on, and maybe go for the change. its difficult though cos the part should work. and its not like its an isolated fault so its not like i can send it back and try another. plus the pain you go through fitting the whole lot twice just to see if it might be a better fit is not worth it.

i dunno. Call it a bummer.
