I got mine from garden buildings direct. Had it about 15 years now and no sign of rot. Very cheap at the time.

Chart Garages do some great designs, they made ours where the westy lives.

Would recommend them 100%, Suzy who helped us was spot on from design to installation

    I think it’s a 12x8. Came in 4 sides, a floor and a roof. Flat pack.

  7. although it doesn't answer your question our shed is on the boundary between our garden and the neighbours drive, so I ended up building it myself.

Yes, worth considering though. I did the same with an odd shaped space behind a stone outbuilding; used fence panels down one side, one wall of the outbuilding and made the two ends, one with doors, and the roof from scratch. Very straightforward, but wood isn't cheap though. Currently building Shed No 5 which is more of a garden store than a shed really.

Usually the cheap ones are made from tissue paper but do a job if not abused.
The better ones are made from a better grade and thicker wood. If you have the skills I feel it's worth buying a pile of decent timber and make it yourself.
As with most things in life cheap ain't usually the best.

  13. Hi Garrick, right price? If Santa has raided most of the readies you might consider one of these: Lottie in Clarkes gge.jpg 4.9M x 3.4M x 2.5M high front has zipped opening, Clarkes/Machine Mart £344 Pros cheap, surprisingly rigid and well made, Cons not warm and condensation an issue. Do hope wood remains the answer, though I was surprised how expensive they can be, perhaps Gumtree Local might also be worth a search.

  14. We got a local shed company to custom build ours - it's more of a garden room now - 15' x 12' with patio doors etc - cost £3k

  16. Building your own isn't as silly as seems . I got given this a joke but it really is a good guide to a self build .
If you're going to use it PM your address and it's yours [IMG][IMG]

  18. Build 1, done a couple now and it's no cheaper than buying 1 but it will be exactly how you want and will be better finished/ materials etc
