    Great pics,
    Like the modern Monnraker units...

  2. That really is a great bus - I love the colour. In that condition you can maintain it and it'll last...

  3. thanks neptune! the main work needs to done on the inside, just to make it finished, but in terms of electrics, heating etc needs attention so thats where my focus is at the moment, outside looks wise I'm happy with, just a little addition here and there like deluxe trim, over riders, mud flaps and maybe some other bits here and there :) but he needs heat more than anything!!

love driving him around though! :D:D:D:D

  4. great story about the collection ..

  5. it was an experience but i loved every second, the anxiety of driving from Carlisle to Scotch corner with my fuel disappearing and not knowing the true reading, hugging the steering wheel while driving, hoping and praying I make it to the next petrol station! lol

It was a beautiful clear night pretty much a year ago now, driving, on my own, looking int he rear view mirrors and seeing the long sides of the van with the air intakes at the back, made the whole trip worth while, knowing I have my very own camper van, such a great feeling :) id do it again tomorrow!

  6. so its been a while since updated this, thats because its been a while since I did anything worth shouting about! til now! Its interior time!
Bed, sub, amp, consumer unit, and storage units, hob and sink units are all out

need rubbing down and paining, something im dreading but will be very satisfying in the end, although long term plan is to cut the passenger one out and have a swivel base...potentially on both the drivers one too! :D

now that the sinks gone... I HAVE A POO HOLE!! gotta have good aim though!

    :D :D :D :D

  7. what I also found odd is that even though its a converted microbus, with seatbelt captive nuts where youd expect them to be, under the window etc, the offside wheel arch doesnt have one. Is that normal? I need to drill one for the rock and roll bed and the seat belt but just found it strange.

surely Poddington should be hyphenated to "Poddington-Smythe" :)

Nice van and I love the colour. Interesting journey to pick up the van too :)
Congrats on your new baby, I predict him racking up the camping miles before this summer is out :)

  12. love the white walls! cool bus

  13. Cheers everyone. Arthurs 2 now and he loves the bus. The amount of camper toys and split tat we have is scarey but it's what he likes! White walls are a bit ropey so I'll take them off til I get new ones or I may buy the paint and do it myself!

  14. so a lots happened this week, carbs failed so new ones got, stripped out the air box, blower and old Solex carbs for Weber replacements to go in, New exhaust fitted, while everything was out the way, I replaced the fuel sender unit and replaced the fuel breather rubber link pipes, they really needed doing!
to fit the new exhaust I had to remove the unused tow bar so that's up for sale to offset the cost of the new parts, The bumper now sits where it should and not 2 inches away from the body so looks a lot cleaner which I like! I have found a site called riverhaus that sell solex's etc so they're buying my old carbs from me to then refurbish and sell on, so that will offset it further,
    pics time

  15. since I took all my units out a while ago, we are currently looking at buying our house so the bus has been on hold interior wise, so all the units etc have been put back in so we can hire it out to earn some pennies, so I re connected the sound system last night, consumer unit next... :D
