Original heat exchanger question type 4

Does anybody know the make up material of the original heat exchangers .....i know the original consertinas had it in the collars and rings , i have recently made my own consertina tubes to Vanoraks handy tip .But what about the make up of the original HE are they safe ? all be it i have already fitted them . look forward to your comments .

Forgive me for being idiot for not putting in asbestos being the make up .

 

I guessed that's what you meant . I'm pretty sure there is no asbestos in the HX , possibly some in the exhaust heat shield ?

 

That wide gauge gauze bit underneath the fins .

 

I am still talking about heat exchangers not fishing nets
