    Watched it last night.
Thought it was a good watch. Then a mate asked me “Have you watched ‘we bombed New Mexico’ ?”. I have not.
Has anyone else seen it? Pretty shocking. It tells of the test site Oppenheimer used to test his bomb. Thousands of people lived there at the time, and radiation cancer is still rife in their communities.
Progress, eh? Should he have binned his invention?

  2. Didn’t see the movie, but I lived near St. George Utah.. Zion . Where the fallout was a 1,000 times more radioactive exposed than the U.S. average. From the testing, then back in the day. But everything‘s OK now…

Looks like it might be an interesting film documentary to watch.
Having said that, I've not watched Oppenheimer yet either. We've shown it at the cinema where I work, so I've seen parts of it - it does look like a decent watch, so I'll definitely get around to it... 3 hours though....

Are people still suffering? Maybe not medically, but financially as no one wants to hang around there?

You get fidgety in a cinema too?
Sitting through Interstellar was a trial. If you get into a film, I find that time just disappears, as it carries you along with it.

I think it's more the thought of three hours!
We showed 'Lawrence of Arabia' this week (we have a 'Classic Film Wednesday' once a month for a fiver) - the best part of four hours long.... but everyone came out saying how great it still was, how relevant it still was, and not one mentioned it being too long. As you say, a good film will carry you through with no thought of how long you've been watching.

Oppenheimer ..watched it , thought it was very boring film .In fact i didn't even bother to watch the end .
Anyone else think that Cillian Murphy looks like a ventriloquist doll , particularly at the film awards .

I think you had to get inside his head to realise why he looked so ‘mono’ all the time. He knew what he created and he knew the devastating effects from it before it ‘went off’. From what I got from it, I think he was wishing he never created it but had to go through with it, regardless. His dull look added to it. What I thought, anyway, but everyone’s a critic.
What did you think of Barbie? Was that better for you? There was a campervan in it…;)

But it would be wrong of me to assume you’re preferences of certain things, apparently, that’s why I asked…

    Cool.
    You seen Dead Man’s Shoes?
Yeah, it was ok. I watched with my bro in laws little girl. It seemed appropriate for her. I’ll watch anything.
Frozen, on the other hand, had far too much of a complicated plot. Worse than The Matrix…

I have only seen Barbie of the two films.
An interesting moral story and fun.

I believe Kodak in New York state were getting black dots on their negatives downwind from the test sites .. and wondering WTF was happening but nobody could tell them..
