It’s been a while…Just as good as a Real Sub, but £10,000 cheaper without the two year waiting list. Also, the steel is harder than a Rolex, so it won’t scratch up so much. Just fantastic.
I like that. It would be a cheap replacement for my Tag F1 that was stolen last year – together with all the other watches in my modest collection. I'm just left with a Casio G-Shock GA-2100 that was on my wrist when the bar stewards broke in.
Yeah. Got one of those too. All black stealth model. Steeldive do great watches, with Seiko NH 36 movements. Thay are actually better than the Seiko watches that they ‘homage’ (copy). Have a look on Steeldive UK.
Yes. This one is the 1953. They have a warehouse in Cardiff, so an address in the UK is around two days from ordering. Unless it’s ordered on a Friday. Got this one yesterday, ordered last Friday. S far, since unboxing yesterday morning, it has gained 3 seconds.
We were away from home for a few hours when they broke in, jewellery and watches taken and a 5 New Zealand dollar note that I'd taken out of my wallet that morning, but nothing else and not too much damage apart from the destroyed window frame. We live in the country and don't have any close neighbours so there was little chance of them being disturbed and it could have been worse. The police said thieves take about seven minutes to go through a house from top to bottom as they know all the common hiding places.
Buggers. Hate thieves. They broke into my garage, and stole all my petrol gardening equipment, in 2015. Through the roof. Wish I caught them in the act, as I would have then been able to use my ‘reasonable force’ domestic instruments as weapons, skills. They wouldn’t have walked away.
That's shocking. Glad they didn't bother to wreck the place, and hopefully the insurance company weren't too difficult. It's a horrible feeling though. On the couple of occasions we've been broken into, it took a while to feel comfortable again. (the first time we had so little that was worth anything, they took a set of headphones, a portable CD player and some CDs - all of which belonged to a mate who was kipping on our floor for a week whilst he got a new flat; the second time, the crowbar on the aluminium doorframe woke me up - my room was downstairs - and I thought it was my flatmates coming home drunk and struggling with their key in the lock... I got up and put the light on to let them in! Luckily our robbers weren't very brave and ran away, or else it could have been a whole different result!!)
There is a difference of course but for me the Rolex would be an investment and stay in a safe whereas I'd wear the Steeldive. Maybe I'll get both. I live in France and from Steeldive UK it would be £110 plus tax and handing charges compared to £80 from China – it's on my wish list, I just have to press that button.
It really is a horrible feeling when you walk through the door and realise that something is amiss. Laptops, iPads, earphones and other electronic bits and bobs were left, even my Nokia 'phone. Insurance paid for the replacement window but nothing else as I didn't have the original receipts. It's the sentimental things that are missed most and cannot be replaced, a pearl necklace from my Mum and Dad's wedding ring. It was a Monday afternoon and we'd usually be home but we were at a hospital appointment. A local councillor spotted a car with one person in it, in the entrance to the field opposite our house and thought it was odd so made a mental note of the type, colour and reg number – the police couldn't trace it.
It's a cracker, isn't it? I am on the list, they run lottery picks, so it's worth signing on up, even if the list seems very long.
