technology improvements are wonderful - sometimes - is it any coincidence that since the closure of many manned signal boxes to automation cable theft has increased......also now your? local box is not manned be prepared for longer waits at the barriers, signallers miles away watching their screen and cctv will sometimes hold the barriers for longer while having a nice cuppa tea/natter!
This one stays shut if there's another train coming in 5-10 minutes. I get held up here pretty well every time I cross it. I thought the barriers were automated i.e. shut because a train passes a sensor back up the line somewhere?
