  1. Hi
I have brought Brad (son) a 1303 1972 Beetle .... He needs some advise. Can anyone rec'm a good Beetle forum.

    :)

  2. Not really the only one I've been able to find is vzi and we all know what that's like
If anyone knows of any I would also like to know
There maybe a gap in the Market ?
I think there's a 1303 register somewhere on the web though

  3. Careful with this one guys! Lets think before turning this in to an other-forum bashing session! ;)

  4. :( :-[ I just want to know best advise for putting the rubber body seal on! - I watched Beetle crisis and picked up you use black mastic but i would like some 'Tips' on punching the holes etc....

  5. I looked for a forum, a lot of practices used on bays can be used on beetles too.

There is a haynes manual for restoring beetles and also how to keep your vw alive is good too.

  6. do you have a local vw club? if so you can join and ask there.
if not, you can join one a bit further away and ask. my local club has a couple of guys just completing body off resto's on bugs. there is a link on here in the v dub club section for dbs vw club

  7. Does jk have a section for bugs?

  8. Just had a little search on shall we say a less friendly forum
And there s quite a few post about it
But I think a belt punch is the tool your looking for

  17. I've found that careful use of a sharp knife (of the non kitchen type ;)) seems to be the best way to cut the holes in the pan gasket for the bolts to pass through.
Is the body off the chassis then?
If so put the seal on the chassis, hold it in place with clothes pegs (or similar) and mark the holes through the floorpan from below using chalk. Cut out the marked holes with a knife and Roberts your dad's brother.
