Late bay 1973 Baywindow Ok let’s be very clear… this bus is more rotten than Marilyn Manson’s browser history. The good parts: It’s RHD and has doors, most of the glass, gearbox, running gear. The gutter on one side is surprisingly good. Bad parts: it’s really rotten. Front chassis legs are toast. Rear corners have rotted in a way I wouldn’t have thought possible. Outriggers are shot. Front panel would probably come right off if you happened to do a volatile fart near it. No pop top. Rust holes in roof. Rust holes in floor. Smells of ghost farts. It rolls under duress. Can arrange delivery at cost. It does have a log book. No keys though. Buy it as a whole or I will just cut it up? It’s definitely salvageable but a lot of work. Open to offers or trades. Need it off my drive ASAP. I've just deleted my FB account as part of the "2022 life-laundry process" ... Last nudge was from seeing an advert for a Bay at £30,000. "Mint. First to see will buy" etc. Well given that this pale blue van was a green one in 2017 at its last MOT, which it failed for several areas of "dangerous" severe structural corrosion I felt compelled to post a few choice words ...... There was nothing to back up the PMA version that this was a full and proper resto. FB is full of this kind of nonsense so your find is definitely worth the sharing
FB does my head in. I've got a page on there for work and I'm a natural lurker but I really can't deal with the mob mentality that occasionally surfaces. From a distance it can be abusive and threatening, especially when it comes from randoms unconnected to the original poster. The concept is sound, but the lack of inflection and assumption of context can be really damaging. The trouble is we read and relate to stuff precisely in the moment we are in with our own heads. Ergo, if I'm feeling grumpy, I respond grumpily.
