I knew these little blighters were noisy but didn't realise how much nosie they generated until I insulated it with a couple of bobbins. Firts image shows how it was installed, second shows it insulated. The difference is remarkable. At first thought the pump wasn't working (it was), now I can hear the engine as it should be. Now what's that strange noise, not heard that before...
I bought the Facet mounts for mine but found they were too long for where I have the pump located so instead used an off cut of 5mm insertion rubber we use at work for gaskets. There is a very big difference in noise levels.
Absolutetly. The damn things should come with the mounts as a complete kit only; as by themselves they're far too noisy. These bobbins were spare exhaust units from an old MG.
