Hi folks! My name's Will and I'm a total newbie to VW Buses as well as this site! Been after a camper for a while and finally bit the bullet and bought myself a late bay 1974 panelvan conversion camper. Hoping to learn the ins and outs of owning and maintaining this classic icon. I have no prior mechanical experience, so am diving into the deep end so to speak but loving getting my hands dirty tinkering! She's a little rough round the edges but am hoping to get her back to her former glory over the next year or so, but in the meantime will be taking her on the road to have lots of fun camping and going to festivals. Her name's "Heulwen", Welsh for sunshine (also a Welsh female name)!
hello and welcome if you need to know something just ask and someone will put you right then someone will put them right lol
Howdy Will (and Heulwen) Looks a cracking bus dude.... congrats on your purchase and congrats for the promotion (if indeed you are a Reading fan)
Thanks for the warm welcome folks! She's a cracking little bus, drives beautifully but in need of an interior overhaul. Not really a big fan of football, wrong shaped ball, being Welsh - rugby is my sport!
Hello and Welcome from The Colonial Contingent. At least you follow the correct code, none of this Rugby League rubbish >
No pics at the mo I'm afraid Bigdaz. I have gutted the interior as it was very basic and a home DIY job done by previous owner (bare plywood panels). Am intending on putting in all the mod cons but need to sort out my leaky window seals first! I have taken pics of the process, and am planning on putting up a running blog of my project. Just haven't had the time to upload them yet! I'll post the link once I've done it if any of you folks are interested?
