newbie question: what's a tin top?

Yes tin tops rock.

Simply an uncut roof. And they also fit into a standard garage no probs so don't rust as quickly.

Mine hibernates in a warm garage for the winter.

 

Early Westy roofs are as VW intended as they are simply the Superior sunroof model with some fibre glass on top.

 

how bizarre. The non-tintop loving all seem to have tintops in their sig pics.

A Tin Top can be used as a daily drive as it can get into carparks under the height bar and not abandoned on the roads edge looking like an upside down skip.

I used to have a tintop....but like many cave dwelling folk, I saw the light and got a Dormobile .....smug grin....oh it's so light in here I could grow crops and do photoshoots ;D
