Hi guys n girls, Just thought I’d say hi and show you my baby T2... At 47 yrs old running like a dream Thanks to the previous owner, except for the confusing 2nd gear with reverse syndrome. I did just read a post saying it could be the plate under the gearstick not being there. I don’t think mine has one... was this a modification, the gearstick has been replaced with the T handle type, so maybe it got lost, a lot of things seem to have been mislaid. I also read it could be the coil connection to the reverse lamp. I know my reverse lamp doesn’t work. Anyway glad to be onboard... currently cleaning out the interior, Normal carpet underlay glued to everything.
Hello Show us a picture of the gearstick bolted to the floor and we’ll tell you if it should have a plate under it.
I’ve posted a few photos of the bottom of the lever... I see the spacer with the 2 risers on it, so it must be fitted! Meant to say I’m in Somerset... Thanks
Hi and welcome along to the Loony Bin. Just a friendly word of warning if I may. If that @Barry Haynes from Barnsley ask you if you "want to see his whippet's" just politely decline and run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gear selection (mainly 1st & 2nd) were a major issue for me when I got mine. I put an Empi Quick shift plate in to fix the problem...it didn’t. Nursed it to a “reputable” (and expensive) mechanics in London and they put an Empi Gear Stick in and fiddled with the plate. Didn’t fix it so much so that having descended the hills around Worcester (think I was there) I actually snapped the gear stick in half trying to find 2nd Roadside recovery got me to my new mechanics. They, for £5 or something and 10mins of work put in (or replaced) this...I think: Probably done 1000miles since and it’s absolutely brilliant. I maybe can’t find 1st straight away 5% of the time.
