    Dear All
I haven't owned a bay since the early 80's ( cost £800.00 DLR 113J ) so it is somewhat of a shock to see how much one is going to cost me now, I have looked at hundreds on the web cant seem to find the right on though, have read a lot of posts from this forum and it is very interesting hope I can get some advice from it in the future.
In the meantime any opinions about this bus

It looks fantastic but it is so expensive !

Welcome to the forum Trevor - enjoy your stay!

The bus in the link looks very very nice but imo its expensive & I think you would find a van equally as nice if you bide your time. It all depends what you are looking for, resto or restored?

  3. Welcome

That's a lovely van but just as lovely as others on here... too expensive imo...

Have a good look about :)

Shame you didn't keep your original one... ;) bet you wish you had now x

Thanks for the replies, the last bay I owned I complete refitted and put a pop top in myself, all on the street, which attracted some interest from passers by, sadly I am now way too busy to consider a restoration job, (I restore antiquarian books for a living) and now all the children have flown the nest, my wife and I want to spent our spare time enjoying the countryside in a bay.
So it needs to be restored, right hand drive, could be an early, if the right one came up, cant be doing with any rust problems though so needs to have had a full strip down respray.
I dont regret selling the old bus, ( actually we had two ) one was N reg but a rust bucket then, it just was not the right vehicle at the time, whereas now it is, we are already planning trips, just need the bus !

  8. Welcome :) - as everyone says too expensive.

  9. Hi and welcome Trevor.

As others have said yes it is a bit expensive but does reflect the current market and if you had to pay someone to restore one you would eventually spend that sort of money. Have a look at importing one as that is likely to be a cheaper rust free option.

  10. Welcome along. I hope you find your perfect van soon and have many happy trips away in it :)

  11. A little expensive I think, I do hope you find yours

    Dear All
Thanks for all your replies I can see I will be using this forum a lot in the future, I am thinking of visiting the VW fair in Telford on Sunday, does anyone know if there will be vans for sale there ?
I will also look out some photos of the last buses we owned, I forgot my wife and I travelled to our wedding in a bay and then honeymooned all round Wales in it !

  13. Hello and welcome.

  14. Welcome aboard. If you are patient (or very lucky) you will get a bargain but I reckon you will be paying £15k and up for one that does not need anything done to it. Especially as we are now going to come to the beginning of the season and the shows.

  15. welcome to the site.....hope the right bus finds you soon

  16. Welcome to TLB, good luck finding a decent bus :)
