New kitchen knife injuries

  1. This is my first decent kitchen knife.

I am now on injury number 4 having sliced off a quarter of my left forefinger fingernail.

And for the record, I was not at all traumatised by the experience ;)

  2. oooooooh eeeeeeeah

  3. What knife did you get? I have a couple of Globals but I'm not impressed. I'd have preferred a Wusthof or a Henkel. Or a vintage French Sabatier.

i have a lovely wusthof chefs knife which is brilliant, i also have a load of sabatier knives which i don't really like as they don't lkeep their blade for very long and the handles fall apart, don't ever put a sabatier in the dishwasher as they rust instantly!

  14. Rude! but yep

  15. BTW. The last message from Jen was from me but i didn't realise she was sigmed in on the tablet.

Anyway, it looks pretty tame compared to Zed's injury. The knife was so good that it didn't even hurt. It was only the next day that I was unable use my hand.

The public wants so the public gets!

  18. Barney. A fast chilli chop caused it. The onion had already faced the nemesis chopper.

Paradox, I'll have you know I was unable to type for a whole day! ;)

    Ha - pathetic - you've filed your nail! ;)

Owen Snell did a much better one...

So did son's GF - she was doing that fancy chopping where you keep the point of the knife grounded. She was chopping chocolate like this for some reason. When you chop like this you tend to lean heavy on the knife and... 10x as much finger chopped off. We taped it back on with masking tape and calmed her down and a week later as good as new. It's good being young.
