Hi there, I have just bought myself a Late bay to use for a holiday in a couple of weeks and will then probably sell it on. I already own a prototype bay project which isn't gonna be ready for the holiday so rather than witness the wrath of my family I've gone for a Late Bay infill I got it for a good price (I recon) so hopefully won't lose out when it comes to selling it on. I think it will be a great buy for someone as I can't believe how clean, straight and shiny it is. It's a 1979, 2Ltr, 3 Owner, genuine 86k looking at all the previous MOT's, very straight and shiny green machine. It's been totally restored with lots of new bits and the green paint is as shiny on the inside as it is on the out I could see me keeping this and getting rid of my EB if I hadn't put soooo much blood sweat and modifications into my EB. A question for you guys first of many I'm sure ... I think it is missing some Tinware that goes on top of the cylinder heads, is there anywhere that sells these bits new? (it's a Type4 2ltr engine (CU code)) or do I have to hunt down second hand stuff. JP
Hello & Welcome from The Colonial Contingent I can't help with the tim wear but there's probably someone on here who can.
welcome to TLB, nice looking bus Have you got a photo of the engine? I think these will be the bits your looking for http://www.thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/type-4-engine-tinware.40563/#post-716177
Hi and welcome JP. I have a type 4 but still can't help as I have a 1.9TDi instead of the original 2.0 air.
Wow that is an impressive welcome, puts my forum (VWKD) to shame I barely get this many posts in a month nowadays MorkC68 - that looks like exactly what I need, looks like it's sold though. 3TNC I like your style I have a charge cooled 1800 TD in my EB of the Ford Variety.. are you doing the Flip Box conversion? art b - Maybe use the EB during the week as my hack and get the Shiny LB out when the sun shines
Nice bus, welcome aboard. IF you do decide on selling then post up on here - might be interested at the right price
Welcome to the site. Lots of members here that have given me a load of help. The tin top looks in good shape. Have seen type four tin ware on ebay but not cheap. What's the car parked next to bay? Is it a triumph spitfire? that looks in good shape too!
