Nightmare!!! All new genuine seals I purchased and yesterday attempted to put the doors back together. Firsly new quarter light frames had to be manipulated without breaking to form a shape that resembled the old ones, made a right mess of my new paintwork so wasnt impressed!! Now I am trying to fit the new seals, is there any order which I should fit these? I have fixed quarter lights, are these really so much of a nightmare to fit? I haven't even started replacing the rest of the window glass as yet? God help me!
Cheers guys. No wonder restorations take so blooming long!! These seals are a nightmare and even original German as their sposed to be aint the greatest. Sure all the old pieces fitted alright when they fell off lol!!!
You do/will have to trim the main 1/4light seal once it's fitted to the frame. Get the seal on the glass, then bully it into the frame. It's very tight as you've found. It can take a solid week or two to re-assemble a whole bus without wrecking the paint in the process. All part of the "fun".
