I kinda missed this, when it first came out being 19, I didn't have much choice.
But I heard the album at my friends party maybe 5 years ago.
It was just mad, loved it.
Brought it the next day.

No, it's a Hugo Boss shop now

There is a campaign to get Leeds Council to put a plaque there. I ws a regular there 2 or 3 times a week for several years. I saw radiohead there amongst many others. I was into hardcore punk at the time so would pop down to see Electro Hippies, Sore Throat, Doom, Bolthrower etc. My favourite gig there was the Young Gods, they are something else live.

The Duchess of York in Leeds was a fab venue. There's a Duchess in York still showing bands...some quite good ones, but the venue is a dump.

NerveRack don't ring a bell but if they were playing there in the late 80s/early 90s I may well have. Is John Keenan involved with the York duchess?

I still gets bits of Duchess of York news from time to time - such as Flatnose John dying a couple of years ago, he was a regular there and did some of the sound work.

Nirvana where my fav band since I was 15 and used to listen to all the albums constantly. Started playing guitar as wasted to be like Kurt. Always love Nirvana but I know all the songs too well and so rarely listen now but once in a while I get that itch.

FF are very good too

Mainly listen to 60s 70s british rock now

I was too old to be disillusioned in 1991, so the whole Nirvana thing passed me by. I get the appeal for teenagers of that era though.

Shame last band i saw there i think was an indie rock band called midway still . i think i also saw mega city four there as well in the early 90,s

No, not from round here originally. West country name originally, our lot then in South Wales coal mining.

There's a whole possie of Snells about 10 miles west of Gainsborough in a little village called Westwoodside (next to Haxey). Maybe your long lost cousins?

My little brother's band Nerverack played there regularly between 88 and 93.

I just e-mailed him. This is what he said.

Band was going from 88 to 93. Our third gig, in 88 was at The Duchess, supporting the Psycho Surgeons. Our penultimate gig, in 93 was at The Duchess, local bands night, with a band called Zoopsia. In between times, we supported, amongst others: Rubella Ballet, Godflesh, Fini Tribe, The Three Johns, Jesus Lizard, Death By Milkfloat...give us a bit more thought-time, a few more'll come back to me.

Yes. Supported them at Hull Adelphi. They complimented us after our performance, which was nice.
That was the time I got so carried away with the making wild vocal noises, I ended up with the mic inside my mouth, which is kinda dangerous, I learnt later.
(Cue joke about the gig when I ended up with mike inside my mouth; also kinda dangerous.)
