Need a good mechanic near Swindon

If anyone knows a good mechanic near swindon for a 72 bus could they please post their details.

I'm in Oxford and can highly recommend a guy in Bicester but I don't know if that's a bit too far for you. What do you need doing?

 

I need the gearbox linkages sorting and the heating fixing (new pipe along the centre plus cables).

Bicester would be cool if he is good. Have you got a number?

 

Swindon is a bit dry on air cooled mechanics ..... I usually do all my own

 

Nick at Wiltfalia near Chippenham is good gear - does Type 2 restos with his father and I must say I don't think there is anything about a bus that they don't know.

He also does a super job on refurbed trailing arms fitted with Lemforder ball joints.

Try Bob Wiseman - round the back of BMW at Rushey Platt - he knows aircooled and usually has some restos on the go

Also, in Cricklade, is Armstrongs - a friendly family business (father and son, Steve does the mechs and Dave is paintwork) who run a VW Specialist garage. Seem to know their stuff on mechanical bits but use another guy for engine tuning. Ring them on 752800.

 

I used them once for an mot , never went back, tried to talk me into removing my twin dells for a webber progressive quoting it was better . never enthralled me with any confidence
