I was just looking at my venus flytrap on the window sill as it has started flowering and it got me thinking....surely its a bit of a paradox I mean, it eats insects.....but it needs them to pollinate it!! ...surely its a bit risky, insect comes in, collects pollen, then lands on a trap and gets eaten before pollinating another plant ....and as for spiders, the female bites the head off and eats the male after sex!!!
Its all a matter of distance? ...flowers at top for pollination ...leaves lower down for eating. Sort of up there for thinking, down there for dancing in botanical terms...
